Middlemarch is a really lovely story about a mixture of characters in a rural village called Lowick. The nearst town is Middlemarch. The main character is Dorothea who marries Mr. Caussabon. She aims to help him with his book he's writing, but when she's married she soon realises that he only wanted her for a trophy, and constantly speaks down to her. Her Uncle Mr. Brooke is a landowner and before her marriage she gave him advice on improving tennants cottages and repairs to the farmland. The new Doctor Lydgate is popular with some and not with others. It's gossipy like a soap, but with horses and carriages. Dorothea becomes friendly with her husband's nephew. There is a spark between them from the start. It's a great story, still reading.
