Just starting this book and already I’d like to talk about so many things. One thing I love so much: how in the beginning it’s all about false charity, especially “pious” acts clergymen do, which are rarely of any use to the people who should benefit from it.

I’ve just got to the juiciest part of the story, the part I most like, when nothing is happening yet and everything seems still but still bristling with excitement. It’s just magical. I really love this book.

I can’t believe how resourceful and strong and brave Jane is. She’s a burning fire, she speaks with clarity and truth. I just love her.
