So they finished the Guild test. Tests or training arcs always kind of bore me, and this one in particular wasn't too entertaining to me. The enemies were mostly guild members as part of a test, other adventurers, and finally a Slime monster. There was no world building, just built up how the guild treats these tests.
I don't know; the slow progression and test nature probably reminds me of the slog of school. xD

We get a familiar in this volume, a mischievous little rodent. I believe they named him Eedle? I'm listening Text to Speech, so I'll have to go back and grab the name later.
It was interesting that they introduced a formal system of pro-bono work (small money adventuring where the copper coin they offer is effectively worthless). I think an actual government led "public service" requirement would make more sense.

Pretty close to done with this one. Not much development romantically (and no advancing of Rent's species evolution change yet). We do get introduced to a lot of younger characters, like the girls at the orphanage, and that one young woman being a sacrifice in her village. This story feels very centered, the only thing keeping us on the move being false suspicions of Rent as responsible for a slew of abductions.

I think it's nice that the first two gals to really become part of our Undead friend's "circle of trust" are people he has known for a while and mature individuals. I wonder if this will go harem or no? I'd kind of prefer not, and if he ends up with one of the two, I'd be happy.
Last section, we learned he gained a plant healing ability from fixing a shrine. We also see his destructive magic combining powers.

This one starts with an Adventurer Test (I believe moving from Bronze to Iron rank). We get to see Sheila (the guild instructor gal with red hair), and we also see Laura and Raiz, the two adventurers Rent is assigned with for the active dungeon hunting part of the test.
The black and white art so far is kind of lame to me, but I don't know, I'm pretty harsh with that. The start was tough to get into (Orc hunt).
