His hanging had been the first time he'd seen the mind-bogglingly enormous tree. It existed on a realm all its own, its power immense. His awe had been replaced by horror when the gods had strung him up, intending to leave him there in agony for centuries.

"Yggdrasil freed me. Its great branch lowered me to the ground."

He stepped into the shower and sighed as the weak stream of cool water flowed over him. As he scrubbed the thin bar of soap over his skin, he tried to banish the sight of her from his mind.
OK…All I can focus on here is how you just washed with an obviously used, left over bar of soap you found in the shower of your hotel room in Jordan. No, just no! I don't care if your immortal…just…no. NO!
