P22-23: All that you are, sins apart, is destined, if you will let God have His good way, to utter satisfaction..God will look to every soul like its first love bc He is its first love. Your place in heaven will seem to be made for you and you alone, bc you were made for it—made for it stitch by stitch as a glove is made for a hand.

P21-22: I am considering now how, but why, He makes each soul unique. If He had no use for all these differences, I do not see why He should have created more souls than one. Your soul has a curious shape bc it is a hollow made to fit a particular swelling in the infinite contours of the Divine substance.

P15: It is safe to tell the pure in heart that they will see God, for only the pure in heart want to.

P13-14: A book on suffering which says nothing of heaven, is leaving out almost the whole of one side if the account. Scripture..put[s] the joys of heaven into the scale against the sufferings of Earth, and no solution of the problem of pain which does not do so can be called a Christian one.

P7: Any man who reaches Heaven will find that what he abandoned (even in plucking out his right eye) has not been lost: that the kernel of what he was really seeking even in his most depraved wishes will be there, beyond expectation, waiting for him in 'the High Countries'.

P6-7: A sum can be put right: but only by going back till you find the error and working it afresh from that point, never simply by going on.. If we insist on keeping Hell, or even Earth, we shall not see Heaven: if we accept Heaven we shall not be able to retain even the smallest and most intimate souvenirs of Hell.
