Enraging topic. In short, it's a history of companies scrambling to make a buck at the expense of Latin American countries. O'Brien does a great job giving a concise bird's eye view intro. Honduras folks put up a great fight, strike after strike! O'Brian goes through chronologically & also thematically by country. It doesn't 'jump around' w/o reason.

It's starting out with the 1820s & 1830s, the land grabs in the USA, a brief mention with a Mexican war :( and disrupted traditional societies in Central & South America.
