Adventure of the Noble Bachelor – 3* – Not bad but not particularly memorable either.
Adventure of the Beryl Coronet – 4* – Had to look up definition and pronunciation of "coronet," but otherwise this is a classic description of Holmes' investigative methods in action.
Adventure of the Copper Beeches – 5* – Exciting all the way through. One of the best of the collection.

Man with the Twisted Lip – 3* – Fun but not particularly remarkable.
The Blue Carbuncle – 5* – One of my favorites, with a classic example of Holmes wheedling the information he wants out of a recalcitrant witness.
The Speckled Band – 5* – Best of the collection. Packed with suspense, a little creepiness, and a highly exciting climax.
The Engineer's Thumb – 4* – Great story, not really a mystery per se.

The Five Orange Pips – 2 stars – Great initial mystery, but the ending is abrupt and pretty terrible.

A Scandal in Bohemia, 3* – Not really a mystery, with a dash of Victorian-era misogyny added in.
Red-Headed League, 5* – A classic.
A Case of Identity, 2* – Too easy to figure.
The Boscombe Valley Mystery, 4* – Thoroughly enjoyable.
