Reading Eden's family sagas, I spend half my time mentally shouting for the lead female to watch out/don't trust/etc. You know something horrific will happen (because of immoral choices or such) but the suspense is gut-wrenching. And this weaves back and forth between generations, amping up the drama.

Love her Gothic family sagas even more than her Gothic romances.
