Although there are definitely woolly passages in this survey of contemporary trends in narrative theory, it's written with a delightful verve and mordant wit that certainly help in doing the heavy lifting of getting the reader across some very hairy terrain. Worth the price of admission for the reading of Jekyll and Hyde alone in the penultimate chapter.
