Blather, stupiding, & buttsex comprised the last third of this book. I was half-asleep when I finsihed it, but methinks that made little difference -- I'm just glad it's over. My honor for the Buddy Bad-Reads Project remains intact. :P

Well, gotta give credit where it's due -- I didn't suspect THAT connection between Hadrian & the villain(s). Too bad it's not enough to save the book from suckitude. :P

Hadrian: "There's no sin in admitting you wanted sex or that you enjoyed it." Callie: "The embarrassment [...] was nothing to what I felt when Gerald unbuttoned my shirtwaist & exclaimed over how...large I am." .....I can't even tell you how much I loathe this trope. Why must shy heroines always be ashamed of being horny?! SOCIAL SHYNESS DOES NOT EQUAL SHAME OF SEXUAL DESIRE. *grinds teeth*

"I've never been with a virgin before, but I won't hurt you, Callie. I'll go slowly with you, let you get used to me, & once you have, I'll give you as much or as little as you want." ...After which she reveals she's not a virgin at all & has been left eternally unsatisfied by her asswipe ex-fiance. This is making me want to vomit, y'all.

My spider-senses tell me that Hadrian is about to spill his schmoopy romantic guts to Gavin & Rourke -- the heroes of two upcoming novels in this series. What a unique idea! Oh, wait...no it's not.
