Being on the spectrum doesn’t help dating life but compounded with the influence of sexism in men and male entitlement to sex ( plus just how little people communicate during sex for either parties benefit) it just turns you off almost entirely if you’re straight.

So I’m surprised how well this novel connects to me as someone on the spectrum. The MC’s fears of not being able to connect to other people versus connecting too much are definitely worries I’ve had to a degree.

Holy goodness I used to get the whole “acclimation lecture”. Albeit my own family is fine with me not making eye contact with them but they do try giving me tricks to make it look like I am for interviews.
