Things are worse for Regan, as her body is acting in ways that no one can understand. Cursing, convulsions, and now speaking in tongues. Chris is out of her mind trying to figure it out, especially when the doctors are unsure as well. Told she needs to seek a psychiatrist, Chris calls upon Father Karras, in hopes that he will offer some help. While he is baffled, he is not sure if this is possession or illness.

A single mom begins to notice oddities in her pre-teen daughter. It’s first thought to be a playful imagination. However, things get even more disturbing and social awkward, leading to some time with the doctor. What could be a lesion on the brain could also be something psychological, leading to a few more tests. Still, when the girl speaks about feeling inhabited by something else, eyebrows raise, as do concerns.

Chris MacNeil has an active life as an actress, but is never too busy to spend time with her daughter, Regan. When odd noises begin to come from Regan's room, Chris is not sure if they are related to vermin in the walls, but added strangenesses force Chris to take her daughter to a doctor, who is not entirely sure what's going on. Meanwhile, Father Damien Karras has been struggling and cannot seem to find his way!
