So far I am not impressed. The reason most fantasy authors choose to have a young or otherwise unknowledgable person as the first protagonist we meet is so that they are able to explain the world to us. Hair has chosen to start us with a grizzled spy master who knows more than most people. I feel like I am drowning in info here and can barely keep track of what's going on with so many unknown words and names at once.
