L'enfance de Roland and the story of Ogier finish up. The events of the song of Girart of Vienne happen (Oliver and Roland meeting and Roland and Aude, I skimmed it having recently read the original), then the boring The Song of the Lorrainers is recounted (a German chanson I'd never heard of), then finally a certified banger: Les Quatre Fils d'Aymon! Next up: the italian stories of Roland now aka Orlando.

The summary of the early chapters of the Orlando Innamorato is better than the actual poem.

The l'enfance of Roland, the knight of the swan, Charlemagne crowned emperor by the Pope, war with the Saxons, Ogier the Dane, crossing the alps back to Italy. Interesting how the author is trying to incorporate the actual history of Charlemagne back into the stories, plus the norse mythology that would have really been in vogue at the time.

Admittedly it's a book of kids stories from 1883, but going just by the table of contents it seems to pull pretty thoroughly from the various traditions of the chanson de geste and their Italian continuations. And it seems to have some stuff I haven't been able to find elsewhere, including the l'enfances of Roland and Oliver.
