Salva and Nya both live in southern Sudan, Salva's story takes place in 1985, while Nya's story is happening in 2008. Salva is separated from his family when rebels attack his village, his goal is to find them. Nya is forced to be at home and she has to walk to water everyday.

Yes, i would it would be fun to hangout with them. The craziest thing that happened in the book was when Salva found out that he was going to American because he was really happy and realized that he will have a better life.

Salva's uncle reminds me of myself because when Salva was walking and stubbed his toe and his feet really hurt and felt like giving up. His uncle helped him by saying he can do this i do this when my friends feel like they cant accomplish something.
