Reading the transcript of the first police interview of Holmes about the disappearance of Pietzel is pure madness. He talks in circles, obfuscates the whereabouts of the 3 children, and gives a different location every time he's asked where Pietzel is.

In the telling of the "Murder Castle" the author falls prey to several tales associated with Holmes that are not true.
1) The Dr. E.S. Holton was Elizabeth Holton, and not much older than Holmes. Not only did she nor her husband fall prey to Holmes, but they survived until well into the 1900s.
2) There is not evidence that "50 people" were traced back to the hotel, as the 3rd floor hotel was never opened.

This man's capacity for deception is infinite, and so disturbing.
