Absolutely amazing! Such wisdom, vision, scope, and such beautiful writing. I'm only a quarter of the way through, but I'm completely in love with this book.

One thing I will say. If you read this book, try to persevere through to part 2. The book starts getting exciting and a lot easier to read. Really enjoying it now, wasn't too convinced at first.

Loving it. Started part 2 and it's a lot more military themed.

Page 46, chapter 10, 3% haha.
Really enjoying it so far, though obviously I've barely scratched the surface.

Many years ago, I read that C.S. Lewis, with hit literary hat on, called W & P the greatest novel ever. It inspired me to read it. I have now read it 4x.

Michael wrote: "Love the Russians."Me too. How long did it take you your first time reading it to complete it?
It was a long time ago. I think I read it during a Christmas vacation in college. It's an engrossing story. One tip: here and there, Tolstoy has these chapters where he philosohpizes about the meaning of history. I learned to skip those chapters.

HA HA! I'm not a skipper!
Its funny, because a lot of people that do read it, read it again. I guess it's clearer the second time. There are a lot of characters, and sometimes they're referred to as their nicknames. But I'm liking it, the action hasn't even started yet.
