It really struck me today, whilst reading PRIDE, that we really need more protagonists like Zuri - a Black woman who is ambitious, flawed, and has a refreshing amount of agency.
She may not be the 'nicest' protagonist -- but we have enough nice protagonists. We need characters like her: real, honest, and unapologetic.
