Author assumes that everyone knows French as there are to many unnecessary uses of French (and sometimes German) phrases on almost every page. There are also many references to past historic events with no background as to what the events are.
Its annoying to have to continually google words and events to try and figure out what is going on. I’m reading it at about 1/2 my normal speed.
