Very illuminating chapter on the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. I'm not taking either side by quoting this, but this stood out to me: "Whether it is a Palestinian with an explosive belt blowing up a Seder celebration or an Israeli pilot in an Apache gunship firing rockets into a refugee camp - it is terrorism." (183)

Putting it here as a reminder, chapter 7 is a fantastic starting point for explaining a non Interventionalist foriegn policy to Christians and non-Christians alike.

"If ordinary Americans are to find a deeper understanding of why so many people are angry at us, we will need to... develop a much deeper comprehension of what the American government is doing in our name."

"Shouldn't the highest rates of both abortion and death-row executions in the Western world be a concern to all those who profess moral values?"

A fantastic read, HIGHLY recommend reading it with a highlighter ready.

Absolutely marvelous. An absolute must-read for any person of faith thinking of entering, or even being involved with, professional politics.

A book that criticizes the GOP for pandering to believers while holding postitions antethical to believers faith, while also criticizing Democrats for shunting anything relgious from the public sphere? Yes please.
