Finished Ch 10. Quidditch World Cup and the aftermath. Starting to see the pathologies of the Wizarding world on show. Perhaps an example of power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Anyone less than a wizard is indistinguishable from a nothing. Percy is an exemplar of a way of thinking where social status (no matter how it's gained) is the measure of value.

What a shocker! I'd completely forgotten who helped Harry in the book (as opposed to the movie) with the solving the 2nd task...
And talk about a last minute save.

The gripping ending of this book must give way to sleep - I'll finish this tomorrow. This book is the best of the books in the series so far.

Ch20. The Triwizard Championship begins with the first task. Reading this quite slowly, a few too many demands on my time. Loving the conversations about the series over at Fantasy Buddy Reads. It's so much more fun to read a book with friends - especially friends with great insights.
