But hate, I suspected, wasn’t the emotion that made my stomach flip over and my chest tighten whenever he was in the vicinity. It wasn’t hate that made my head spin and my eyes refuse to look anywhere else in a room he occupied. And it definitely wasn’t hate that kept me awake at night, thinking about the things that could have been if I hadn’t fallen for somebody so utterly and completely unobtainable.
