First, I love Cornwell he's an exceptional author and his talent when it comes to historical fiction is on par with C.S. Forester. Uhtred is one of Cornwell's a great characters. This installment feels like a stepping stone to a much bigger story in this series. It falls a bit short in the story and I have read enough of his books to say this.. Regardless I will buy anything this guy writes.
