Also, I can’t help but feel like Sandry was always the most unrelatable of the four for me… And she was the most sheltered and privileged. Just this convo she’s having with this commoner woman… where is the sympathy for a woman who was raped and forced to bear that rapist’s children? How could she have pride? She doesn’t have the money, magic, or social influence you do.

This book rly shows how time, age, and the things they’ve been through wore through their childhood innocence and realistically confronted the fact that these young adults could share their thoughts no longer. At the same time, they’re still so young. Building up walls and protecting themselves from imagined hurts that would smooth over with honest communication lol
