The chapter on The Knack...And How To Get It kind of helps make sense of the problematic use of the word and concept of rape in the film, yet it also misses some important specific points.

I like the way the chapter on Bond analyses him as a politically reactionary, somewhat xenophobic figure and a very mainstream role model. It sounds blindingly obvious now I type it out: he's started to seem like the aspirational archetype for consumerist men's magazines - but I hadn't thought much before about critiquing the Bond films, and I must have wanted to. It also makes me want to rewatch The Ipcress File.
