The Buddha in the Attic is such a sad and disturbing story. In a world where there are many people who are vocal about their plight in life, the Japanese are quiet and we do not hear about the terrible times during the war when they were rounded up like cattle and had everything taken from them. I also recommend the Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet.
