Oh, I'd like to see Sarah J. Maas' fandom jumping through these hoops.

Although I am also kind of disappointed SE didn't do it either.

Anirudh Or, if you want to really be savage, you don't publish the end at all ;)

message 2: by Utkarsh (new)

Utkarsh @ani-Are you referring to MR. martin? xD

message 3: by Mayim (new)

Mayim de Vries So I was thinking about Marting too, but then I decided that at this point I don't really care about the ending. The fandom is crazy though, so it might have been worth a shot.

message 4: by Anirudh (new)

Anirudh @Utkarsh, by the looks of it :D He's not releasing that book next year either

@Mayim, Same here. I honestly lost interest. And if the book's plot is the same as TV show then it's nonsense anyway

message 5: by Mayim (new)

Mayim de Vries I didn't watch the series because I didn't want to know the ending. Which I guess means that I might still read the final book (provided that it comes out during my lifespan)

Yeah might take a while :D apparently he's "struggling" with the book

Nastassja Ahaha, we cannot give such power to Maas! Imagine her endings being one crazier than the other. Sex erupted mountains are going to be nothing comparedxD But honestly i think the only one who would be happy about 11 different endings are publishers. Fans would want to buy all books with all endings. But in reality it’s too much. I cannot even imagine what kind of stuff you have to come up with to fill up so many endings. Incredulous.

Mayim de Vries Aha! but admit that the very idea IS tempting (you are right about the collectors though, that would be awesome to see how they fight for the rarer versions! I haven't thought about that!)

You are evil :) The idea is tempting in a masochistic kind of way. I know that on tv they’ve made a tv show recently where after each episode audience choses what is going to happen next. And depending on their preferences the show adapts. I think something similar was done in a book where you choose which situation you like more and then your choises lead to one of the proposed endings. But honestly i was never a fan of alternate endings; i prefer to see what author had in mind from a to z. But on the other hand, if i am not happy about the ending, it would be nice to have an officially written by the author alternative.

Mayim de Vries We should seriously get rich by marketing this idea!

The Choose Your Own Adventure series of the 1980s had almost 200 books! I "read" a few of them, but I always kind of lost interest. It was like a video game at times, and sometimes your choice would end the story really quickly (you'd end up in prison, or something like that). As a result, sometimes you didn't end up reading much of the book's length at all!

And then we will spend all our money buying all-the-possible-endings-books of the authors we love :D

The Choose Your Own Advent..."

Really?! I didn't know that thing exists for so long. But you definitely have a point here: better stick to an old one ending book scheme.

Stefan "Oh, I'd like to see Sarah J. Maas' fandom jumping through these hoops."

I'd like NOT to see SJM's fandom. At all. For a day, at least.

It's like... if someone offered me a choice between facing Spanish flu OR spending one more second with SJM's fan - I wouldn't even let them finish the sentence, I would already start running towards influenza.

Mayim de Vries There are more scary fandoms out there. No, Wait, I reconsidered. There are not.
