Thanks, Alan! Shackleton’s incredible pluck and courage at the South Pole reminds me so much of Scott’s. They just don’t make ‘em like that any more!
My fave voyage book, along with Slocum ‘s Sailing Alone (he rebuilt his boat and sailed from Fairhaven/ New Bedford where I live). And maybe a couple Ren ones, like Diario de Colombo...
