Oh, boy. A lot has changed in the writing world in five years, and such changes are entirely evident in this book. Redundant dialogue tags and the dreaded "let go of the breath they didn't know they were holding."

I don't want to fault it because I'm still intrigued in the story, but... Whew. I might have to skim through this one.

So far, it seems promising on the macro, but not-so promising on the micro.

For instance, there are sentences like this: "Yes, there is," she agreed.
