I'm using it as my devotional for the Advent season. Part 1 is pretty straightforward as a devotional, a Bible passage, a short exerpt from one of Merton's books, and then a prayer. Part 3 offers an opportunity for evening prayer and an examination of conscience for the day. I haven't experienced anything like it since I participated in the 2 year Academy for Spiritual Formation. I highly recommend it.
