Geisler's introduction is a good place to start if you want to get an idea of how one of the most important contemporary protestant thomists thought we could, as protestants, embrace the thought of Aquinas. Ralph McInerny wrote the Foreward for the 2003 version, and gave it a glowing endorsement.
