It's been a really uneven year for me - a few highs, a lot of disappointments. If I had to pick just one, I might go with Kirstin Hannah's The Great Alone. It didn't receive my highest rating of the year, but I read it just before we went to Alaska so the story plus the trip melded together in a memorable way. And I totally agree with you about the ending(s).

I keep thinking of that one long after I read it as well. It was a good one, for sure (not counting the ending(s)). Must have been pretty magical to meld it with a visit to Alaska!
