I got about 50 pages in and decided to give up for good. When I read I want to be transported, not spend the entire time hating every single character and situation described in the book.

This is so slow going and I have so little sympathy for the ennui in every single character's life. The complete apathy in this is killing me. Definitely not a good breakfast book. Haven't given up yet. I might.
