well, i've gotten farther than i did the first time i started reading this. while i love fantasy and epics, epic fantasies are not typically among my preferred genres. i suppose we'll see how this goes. (anyone who has seen my currently reading shelf will notice a YA epic fantasy there already and might wish to call me out, however, I am struggling with that series right now, as well. i'm not lying to you...)

I am having such terrible reader's block! UGHHH I tried to break it today, but it was painful just getting through 3 short chapters...

Interesting... I have new feelings about Cersei that I must admit were entirely unexpected.

*sigh*... bargaining over the puzzle pieces of death... I begin to find so many of these characters so unsavory that I wonder if I ought to continue.

the intrigue at court is starting to get interesting... but the sexism is getting annoying...

i'm going back a couple chapters with my comment, but this is bugging me. maybe it's just me being too sensitive politically, or maybe I've just been spoiled by Tamora Pierce, but it did surprise me when the same character who gave a young girl a sword made a comment about expecting women to shave their legs on the very same page.

bah humbug! make up your mind, please, sir. is this world to be desolate or hopeful? the balance you attempt is clumsy at best, if the boy is to die, let him die.
