As with anything concise, it moves along in a quick, no-nonsense sort of way... which was less than ideal initially— reading a bit like “X begat Y, Y begat Z, Z begat etc...”

But once Ivan III comes along, it feels like there’s more of a telling of a story— I became much more invested.

Ended up reading all of pre-Soviet in a single session. Pretty excited about tomorrow’s agenda!
