Judging by the speed in which I went through the previous two chapters is an indication of how great Patrick Kirch is in storytelling. When he regales about the (many!) field work to amazing island locations, and meeting the local communities - I feel the romance of archaeological digs. I can also easily imagine myself sitting around a bonfire with him as he tells us his stories. He does focus on the positive, though

Chpt 2 was a rollicking fun read! Kirch took full advantage of his apprenticeship at the Bishop Museum during his adolescence to further his passion of archaeology. The take-home message: take every opportunity to further and up skill your own passions and interests 👍👍
PS: I wonder how many too-short pencils and string were in the boxes in E.H. Bryan's desk 😂😂
