Somewhat incomprehensible because the the MC has been dumped into this Egyptian/African ancient empire with science -fiction and mystical overtones. Lots of info dumps about the culture and who the enemies are. Not sure I care so much, but am interested in the story just enough to see how it turns out. Very funny in a terrible way that the MC is a black woman, yet the woman on the cover is clearly Caucasian.
