One of the great Ed Gorman's "Leo Guild" novels I missed somehow.
Found it in the downstairs library this evening while searching for something to read that wasn't by Ken Bruen.
Excellent example of Western Noir or Cowboy Noir.
Ed Gorman was one of the greats and his books are still in print or via Kindle.

Just updating to rant how superbly written this Western is.
It's hardboiled poetry set in the late 19th century. People ride horses.
Women are hard and the men are easy.
Some of the best writing in the genre I've come across.

This is noir at its finest.
It did not deserve the cover art of this editon.
