I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do this one. It's totally fine. Diana Gabaldon is a fine writer, and I'm learning that this time period in Scottish history is one I might be interested in learning more about. But, the whole romance thing? Has anyone mentioned yet that Jamie Whatshisname is super boring? I get that he's large and good and coppery haired, but he's boring, right? Maybe if it were 300 pgs not 800

At this point in the story, were I Claire, I'd be exiting 18th Century Scotland through the magic druid time portal with both middle fingers up, boy bye, but I guess now actual Claire is more in love and conflicted than ever before? Yeah, okay then Diana Gabaldon. But then again, I'm still reading, Stockholm style, so maybe I am Claire, after all.

A little over 200 pages in, the Frasiers have entered the bridal chamber and that's been drawn out for PAGES (how interesting could sex with a virgin ACTUALLY be, for real though). I cant help thinking this story would be so much more interssting told from the point of view of Dougal McKenzie. Right? Right?!! That guy is some beefy realness. (Please dont tell me he turns out to be an actual piece of shit.)
