Some authors have a talent for spinning a wistful, glistening story from the mundane minutiae of everyday life. Clara Chow just took a story on dinosaur bones being discovered in Singapore and cookie-cut it into another emo Singapore Story about homesickness and longing. As a scifi/fantasy reader, I can't help but be deeply offended. I understand plot devices for character development, yes. But this was such a waste.

It's already painful to read. The first story in this book had an interesting premise: a building that decays at the rate of human lifespans. But the story ends up being a about... A demolition? Blurb was promising til u reread it. I'm not keen on continuing...
