This is an extremely unusual book. It focused on a teenage girl who is either visiting or moved in with permanently -- it's unclear -- her uncle's family in Cameroon. The family is Jewish, originally Egyptian of Italian origin. Esther lived in Tel Aviv. So it's a story of the Jewish diaspora, but another element is that the story is told through family photographs. It's quirky and intriguing so far.
