So I just looked up who Arslan's father is and... It's dumb. Especially since he looks so white. SO DUMB. I'll continue reading but that's so DUMB!!! I liked my idea better.

Written by someone who has NO IDEA what a palm tree looks like. They probably were thinking a tree that's ACTUALLY common to the Middle East, like the Gum Arabic tree which matches this description.
