Not quite done the chapter on acid and bases, however I started oxidation-reduction (ex LEORA says GEROA) interesting to note it's good to have a basic knowledge of undergrad (after year 2 would be sufficient) to immediately understand biochemical references and real-world context. On top of that, I understand which areas I need to review thoroughly (work on = solutions)...

Ch6 starts off talking about DKA which ties in a little bit with HCO3^- awhile back, the sarcasm in page 179 tho... amusing writing. Also key concept p. 182 better explains the difference from previous chapter. Concept check of key concept p.181 keq=kc (ex H2O of #2 p.185) and trick question where you use P instead of [products]/[reactants} good test questions of comprehension (of details)

Just finished chapter 5: kinetics, I really enjoyed that one! It felt like there were less concept checks simply because there were only 2 sections, and I enjoyed doing the "math" of the discrete practice questions where I got to reapply the different "rules" (for example, the stoiech of the rate limiting step = order of the reactant) and maybe I should go back and redo them to test my comprehension of the subject!

Almost finished chapter 4 discrete practice questions. Thoughts: maybe should have mentionned on side application of bicarbonate... otherwise good coverage of stoiech and the mnemonics for the nomenclature are helpful (ex: "ate" more oxygen). It's nice how the conclusion is written in an encouraging way lol

Not quite done chapter 3 as I am finishing up the concept review of bonds (ionic, covalent & intermolecular forces). Had fun reviewing VSERP theory (and reading les différences entre le géométrie électronique et le géometrie moléculaire). Ainsi, finalement je crois je comprends le différence entre la charge formal et l'état d'oxydation puisque en réalité, la charge d'un atome se lie entre les deux extremités...

Complimentary colors may be "beyond the scope" of the mcat, but it is a nice review :) 1st chapter refers much to physics and math review, 2nd some biochem ref but perhaps chem might not have been the first book to start with... maybe check box later. 1st chapter covers quatum theory equations ish, too bad heisenburg uncertainty was not shown. 2e touches on groups of the periodic table and =a review of HS chem ish
