I'm thrilled to announce that The Garden of Blue Roses has made the Preliminary Ballot for the Bram Stoker Award for First Novel! I had to look at the email twice before I believed it, but it's true!

Wow! Be careful, Julie! Seriously, thanks so much for your enthusiastic words. They really mean a lot to me. Naturally I'm pretty excited, and grateful that this little book has gone this far.

I look forward to it. I’ve got so many books going right now and so much piled up on the “reading next” all over the coffee table but I keep looking at your kindle book and wanting to jump on it... I don’t think I’ll be able to resist much longer. I’ll finish which is well underway and short first and then my attention can be all on Garden of Blue Roses! Ha! Greatplan! 😊👍
Oops. Some html goof. I wrote “I’ll finish The Drowned World by J.G. Ballard (which I just got in a gorgeous illustrated Folio edition—currently on sale at a great price btw!)

That really means the world to me, and I do hope you enjoy it. By the way, I completely understand about having too many books piled up "to read." Sometimes I can hardly see over my own desk!
