This feels kind of cheap, because I don't hang around here like I used to, but some of you might be interested that I have a new album out today on Zeromoon records. It's a single composition of long form electronics and field recordings, split into 6 sections - when you download it it will play through as intended. Thanks and happy reading too!

Thanks guys - I’m doing well! Keeping the mind and body active and occupied - keeping creative activities going - all in all the center is holding!
Paul wrote: "That's interesting stuff, Geoff!"Thanks for listening! Can’t tell if “interesting” is a positive descriptor or not, but I def appreciate the listening.
Peter wrote: "Great stuff! Parts 5 & 6 are superb, really enjoy playing them multiple times."Oh hey, thanks so much for the kind words! Admitted multiple listens are rare and I really appreciate it.
Electronic music is one of my passions and those two parts are very good indeed. Keep it up and keep going.

I find little crossover between experimental/IDM/Braindance music and literary/experimental fiction worlds, whether among the artists or the fans. You are a rare exception

I hate to say this, but I find little crossover in experimental music and book readers in general. Something about the musical mind is not working on the same level of the mind that wants to process long/complex/experimental fictions. I might attribute this to the fact that for a lot of the musicians I know, music is their entire life and being. Not a bad thing. But most of their reading is centered around music too.
I studied music when I was a kid, then got obsessed with literature, then got back into making music later on. So it was always a mix with me.

Also, I'm all about experimental music (listening to it, not making it) and experimental literature (which I do make sometimes).

It was different back in the day. Varese composed accompaniment to apoem by Verlaine, while Cage himself wrote poetry. Burgess composed too and his stuff even got played in Europe from time to time. Something must have changed since then
Well I mean, yeah, if you're talking those giants of 20th century composition, yes, they were immersed in all fields of art. I meant more the contemporary artists coming out of electronic/ambient/noise/idm experimental stuff. I don't see as big an interest/influence from literature in their work. Maybe it's there, but I can't see it. And the actual musicians I know and perform with around DC/Baltimore, barely any of them are into books, and def not like postmodern epics.
Here's some blissed out drones I uploaded recently, for your sun-stroke and sun-bliss pleasure. Don't worry about paying attention all the time.https://geoffwilt.bandcamp.com/album/...
They're like meant to drift like they're being nudged by air or water, they're not supposed to grab all your attention each second, I'm not a pop music maker, is all.
But the label release up top there, in the status update, that you're supposed to pay attention to the whole time.

That's some good, relaxing stuff there. I especially like the old-timey TV interlude. Has a certain pathos to it, in a weird way.
Sorry for not writing sooner, but I downloaded the album and it’s really nice! I’ve enjoyed it on a few weekend mornings while reading and making breakfast. Thanks for sharing the link!
