Now Jacqueline is in England. She's decided to marry Humphrey Duke of Gloucester in spite of her father's warnings even when they're reinforced by Catherine de Valois. Jacqueline's response is basically to put her hands over her ears and proclaim "I do what I want" and "not listening, not listening". Oddly, Humphrey, Duke of "Ride and Literally Die for Henry V Long After He's Dead", doesn't like Henry V.

Jacqueline of Hainault is very much a woe-is-me victim whose rash behaviour only worsens her situation (literally, the first chapter is her adoring, beloved father telling her who not to marry and then she marries them anyway). To top matters off, she has a lovely homophobic attitude about being married to a gay man (who she calls a "half man" repeatedly) and she's awful to an abused woman who's trying to help her.

Starting off with a chapter in which Jacqueline of Hainault's beloved dying father tells her who not to marry (and who I know she'll end up marrying anyway) is certainly... a choice.
