If I wasn’t reading this with a friend I’m not sure if I’d finish it. Denise is really angsty and a champion complainer. And many of the pages are full of a whole lot of nothing. Vivid descriptions, yes, but barely any narrative or substance. I’m hoping the plot is just slow burn and will kick in soon and give the book the “oomph” it needs.
