I really Pope's Homer. It's more Pope than Homer, and definitely not the first translation I'd recommend, but more as a poem based on the Iliad, it's really good. (Sort of the way Catullus re-works Sappho, or Vergil reworks some of Homer).

This edition has a number of excerpts, but I was interested enough to look up more

I haven't loved all the poems, but "The Rape of the Lock" is hilarious. I've had it on my to-read list for a while, and glad I finally got round to it.
