It took me way too long to get to this book. About 200 pages in and Adichie’s presentations of gender and race and class and American capitalism are the sharpest.

and then there’s the way adichie jumps ahead, flashes forward and resumes a narrative. the reader has this future insight but the suspense doesn’t go away.
