Impossible to gain in depth understanding of chapter 4 just by using this book. One probably needs to supply it with Polchinski one.

Wow first three chapters are really dense unless you are very well-versed in QFT (advanced) and have some good foundation on general relativity. Hmm...

I like the style but it is still surprisingly tough (or my background is just lousy).
